PCT Pega Excellence Program Overview
The noticeable consensus amongst many new/prospective clients is, “Pega is the best product out there, period. But I don’t want to relinquish my whole budget paying for Pega contractors /partners. The product seems difficult with a long time to get ramped-up. Pega Academy is not enough.” Our intention is that PEP PEP is the silver bullet to kill this argument.
- We have a recommended list of prerequisites for FTE’s that include
- Completion of System Architect Essentials / Senior System Architect Courses and
- Refresh Object Oriented Programming Concepts.
- Plan FTE resources to dedicate 25% or 10 hours per week to our program and the rest to project delivery.
Note: Any additional time needed will be on the FTE’s own personal time.
- The charge is the rate for our resources for the duration of the program.

- Minimum allocation is a PEP Director and 1 PEP Senior Mentor per 3 FTEs.
- This is scalable to allow for more FTEs to join the program.
- A mentor is assigned to each FTE and daily checkpoints are executed to help with assignments and project delivery work.
- We have a 10 week curriculum at CSA level and an 11 week curriculum developed at the CSSA level.
- The students (client’s FTEs) are assigned to the client’s SCRUM/Project teams thus delivering at the best of their experience/skillset.
- Students have checkpoints with the PEP mentors, 3 times a day which should not exceed 15 minutes/checkpoint.
- We’ve required clients to allow PEP Leads to screen the folks for Pega-Enablement-Program. This doesn’t always happen: Clients gave us PMs, BAs, COBOL programmers, etc. Their checkpoints went from 15 minutes to 2.5 hrs (no exaggeration).
- The Program Lead from PEP is meeting with the Student’s managers, Scrum Masters, and directors to set an expectation that, “don’t expect that your FTE is in PEP that you will get 40 hrs throughput. You will get about 24-32 QUALITY hrs where the remainder of the lag will be due to the learning curve and studying to pass the program.”
